Agglomeration of Fine Steaming Coal

This is a preliminary report following the initial assessment and commissioning of the fine coal balling operation at Newlands mine.  It is part of an ACARP assisted program to determine the potential of balling fine coal using molasses based binders while not using a drying step to generate ball strength. It was prepared in order to provide Newlands and Fine Coal Compactions Pty Ltd with information to aid in making decisions on the future direction of the project. At the time of writing this report Final Coal Compactions Pty Ltd had processed approximately 50,000 tonnes of Newlands' flotation product through its agglomeration circuit.
