How to Purchase ACARP Reports

To Search the site click here or click on the icons below.

Availability of ACARP reports is determined by your relationship with the Australian Coal Industry. • All published project reports are available to Australian coal producers and Australian researchers and other service providers to the Australian Coal Industry and Australian Educational Institutions • International requests or from outside the Australian Coal Industry: Only requests for reports to do with safety, environment and Mine Site Greenhouse Mitigation will be filled.

When you select your report you will be asked to indicate your level of involvement.

Reports are available as downloads only.

All report order enquiries should be directed to Nicole Youngman at nicole@acarp.com.au

Reports are categorised in the following technical areas:

Underground

Our underground health and safety, productivity and environment initiatives include strengthening ventilation and gas management technology, minimising risks from fires and explosions, advancing emergency response technologies, reducing operating costs and improving reliability of subsidence predictions. Open Cut

Safety, productivity and the right to operate are priorities for open cut mine research. We have supported work on an automated swing loading system for electric shovels, the science of rehabilitation and minimising mining impacts on neighbouring communities. Click here to view reports

Coal Preparation

Maintenance, improved recovery and plant capacity are our key coal preparation strategies. Work is focused on maximising yield, reducing production costs, minimising emissions, reducing water consumption and the use of lower quality water without adversely impacting on process efficiency. Technical Market Support

Our work in this area is aimed at understanding the properties of Australian coals which impact on market acceptance and emphasising the advantages of our coals over our competitors. The major markets for Australian coals are electricity generation and iron production. Click here to view reports

Mine Site Greenhouse Mitigation

Mitigating greenhouse gas emissions is critical to the long-term viability of Australia’s coal operations. Our work in this area primarily focuses on estimating fugitive methane emissions from open cut operations and mitigating the methane in underground mine ventilation air. Click here to view reports

Mining and the Community

The relationship between mines and the local community is another important component of this program. Tools are being developed to measure the cummulative impact of mining for example. Click here to view reports

Low Emission Coal Use

Mitigating greenhouse gas emissions is critical to the long-term viability of Australia’s coal operations. While ACARP no longer undertakes projects in the area of coal use, reports undertaken to date are available. Click here to view reports

NERDDC Final Reports

In 1978 the Federal Government introduced a research levy of 5 ¢ per tonne of saleable coal on Australian coal producers, and created the National Energy Research,Development & Demonstration Council (NERDDC) to allocate the funds to research to research projects. The program ran until December 1992 and was administered by the Federal Department of Primary Industries and Energy. After which Australian Coal Association (ACA) assumed responsibility from the Federal Government for managing the research funds – becoming ACARP.
